Capitol and Other Jokers
Beginning in 1904, the Congress brand moved away from the matching jokers and instead used an image of the United States Capitol building as their new joker card. Only one joker came in a deck, that is until the game of bridge took over and USPCC narowed the size of Congress cards. Sometime in the 1940s or early 1950s, decks started to include 2 jokers per deck in their two-deck sets. There are some variations in the Capitol joker over the years, and this page will try to be as accurate as possible in determining dates used for specific jokers.
